Privacy Policy

Last updated: 22 July 2026

This Privacy Policy explains what information Weather24 ("we", "us", "our") collects when you use the Weather24 app and weather24.app (the "Service"), how we use it, and the choices you have. We designed Weather24 to work with as little personal data as possible.

In short: we don't require an account, we don't sell your personal data, and we use location only to show you local weather. Payments are handled by Apple and Google — we never see your card details.

1. Information we collect

1.1 Location

If you grant permission, we use your device's approximate or precise location to show weather for where you are and to power nearby alerts (e.g., lightning or cyclone proximity). You can use the app without location by choosing cities manually, and you can revoke the permission anytime in your device settings.

1.2 Device and usage data

We collect a randomly generated device identifier, app settings (units, chosen locations, notification preferences), device model, OS version, language, timezone, and anonymous usage and diagnostic events. This helps us operate the Service, remember your preferences, deliver notifications, and improve the app.

1.3 Purchase data

When you subscribe, the app stores and our subscription provider record the status of your purchase (e.g., active, trial, expired) tied to your store account and device identifier. We do not receive or store your payment-card information.

1.4 Marketing attribution

To understand which ad or link led you to install the app, we and our attribution partners may process limited technical signals (such as install referrer, advertising identifier where you allow it, IP address at install time, and coarse device characteristics). This is used for aggregate campaign measurement, not to build a profile about you.

2. How we use your information

Where required (e.g., in the EU/EEA/UK), we rely on your consent for optional processing such as precise location and advertising identifiers, and on our legitimate interests or contractual necessity for operating the Service.

3. How we share information

We do not sell your personal data. We share limited data only with service providers that help us run the Service, under contracts that restrict their use of it:

We may also disclose information if required by law, to enforce our Terms, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users and the Service.

4. Data security

We use encryption in transit, access controls, and other reasonable safeguards to protect data. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

5. Data retention

We keep data only as long as needed for the purposes above. Preferences and device data persist while you use the app and are cleared when you uninstall or on request. Aggregated and anonymised data may be retained longer.

6. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent. In the EU/EEA/UK these are GDPR rights; in California these are CCPA/CPRA rights (including the right not to be discriminated against for exercising them). To make a request, email support@weather24.app. You can also control location and tracking permissions directly in your device settings.

7. Children's privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country), and we do not knowingly collect their personal data. If you believe a child provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.

8. International transfers

Your data may be processed in countries other than your own, including where our providers operate. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for such transfers.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date reflects the latest version; material changes will be reflected in the app or on this page.
